Security/Tech/Privacy communication and translation whether you are talking to the board or a developer, you need to be able to communicate in all directions. We are seeing Privacy fundamentally shift in front of our eyes with new regulations like GDPR, CCPA, and Canada just proposed one today. I’d also agree with Bruce’s keynote, I think one of the big shifts you will see coming out of this election cycle is a public interest technologist. So many reasons you can see this coming, from the political and technology divides and positions are going to be in desperate demand to assist all branches and levels of government. So a CISSP armed with a CIPP is going to be of great value.

Kevin, that is an excellent point. It’s interesting how our political climate affects the industry from the creation of new jobs to the change in roles and responsibilities of those already working in both the government and private sectors.

I agree with Kevin here, but would add that being conversant supply chain management is going to become even more critical within the next few years. The winds around the beltway are blowing hard in this direction, so I expect legislation and extended regulations to be forthcoming.

To that end, it almost behooves a cybersecurity professional to have a solid legal background.
